šš½ Welcome to The Folklore, our weekly newsletter about the journey of building Folklory, a startup that helps you turn family memories into podcasts. Weāll share weekly updates, wins, and learnings, so subscribe if you want to hear from us.
Over the past few months, weāve worked with over 10 companies, helping them create Folklories. In todayās issue, we wanted to share more about these use cases and how different companies are using Folklory today. If you find any of these interesting and would like to do the same at your company, we offer 3 free Folklories for you to try.
Getting to know colleagues
Our very first customer, MediaBrands Content Studio, sends out a monthly newsletter called The MBCS Monthly to all its employees across the world. In this newsletter, they introduce one member of the team along with the Folklory featuring that person!
Hereās what it looks like!
We love this use case as it allows people to get to know their colleagues a bit better, especially at large companies. More importantly, the informal nature of these conversations allows you a view into who they are as individuals, beyond their titles and roles, which can build more empathy among team members towards each other.
Promoting Diversity
Another interesting use case we saw was companies looking at ways to promote diversity and inclusivity. Many companies have dedicated Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) offices.
If youāre not familir already, Diversity, equity, and inclusion or DEI refers to organizational frameworks which seek to promote the fair treatment and full participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been underrepresented or subject to discrimination on the basis of identity or disability
Weāre speaking with the DEI office at a global company that has over 50,000 employees across the world, and they are working on ensuring inclusion can be consistent for all their employees regardless of country policies (In APAC, which is very diverse, there is no standard law that governs DEI). They wanted to get stories from different individuals in the company because they believed that stories boost morale and also show the diversity of people at the company.
Weāre still ironing out the details, but this was another exciting use case on how a large organization could use Folklory
Building Trust
A few months ago, we were working with COMO Shambala (read more about our partnership) and recorded Folklories with a few of their practitioners. We realized that these Folklories could help them build trust with existing and future clients in a unique way. This could easily extend to therapists, counselors, coaches, doctors, teachers, and similar professions that rely on a high degree of trust. Weāre speaking with two organizations - a hospital and a mental wellness startup - to explore this use case further.
Hereās a Folklory we did with Ole Eugenio, the Program Director for the Pilates department at COMO Shambala - which should give you an idea of what these kinds of Folklories would sound like.
And thatās a wrap for this weekās issue. As we mentioned at the start, if you found any of these interesting and would like to do the same at your company, we offer 3 free Folklories for you to try.
Until next time
